Jane Weedon

Jane’s interest in the body and how it works started with her first dance class at the age of four. This passion lead to a BFA in dance and an interdisciplinary MFA in Choreography/Theater/Film. Upon graduation, Jane moved to NYC performing, choreographing, and teaching dance. While pursuing her art, Jane also worked for multiple organizations that provided creative classes for people with various disabilities. As she worked more with people with disabilities, Jane became interested in the underlying cause of people’s physical disabilities and wanted to learn more about it. She then decided to pursue a physical therapy degree and graduated with a Bachelors and Masters in Science/Physical Therapy.
Since the 1980s, Jane has been exposed to alternative bodywork and the body/mind/spirit connection. This interest has always been explored and incorporated into the work she does. Jane has studied extensively Shiatsu Massage, Thai Yoga Massage, Swedish Massage, Connective Tissue Massage, Trigger Point Massage, Myofascial Release, and acupressure. In addition, Jane has studied and is a regular practitioner of meditation and Qigong.
Advanced areas of scientific study have been in chronic pain from a neuroplastic approach using the polyvagal theory and mind/body approaches and menopause and perimenopause causes of musculoskeletal dysfunction.
For 12 years, she has studied and was mentored by internationally renowned Dr. Joyce Hawkes PhD in Cell-Level Healing. She has studied Reiki, Therapeutic Touch, and various Shamanic traditions.
